The Hygena Cooker Hood App2500 is a wall-mounted extractor fan that removes steam, smoke, odors and grease from your cooking area. It has a powerful motor that can extract up to 250 cubic meters of air per hour, and three speed settings that you can adjust according to your needs. It also has two halogen lights that illuminate your hob and a washable metal grease filter that traps dirt and grease particles.

How to Install the Hygena Cooker Hood App2500?

Before installing the Hygena Cooker Hood App2500, you need to make sure that you have the following tools and materials:

  • A drill

  • A screwdriver

  • A spirit level

  • A pencil

  • A tape measure

  • Four wall plugs and screws

  • A ducting kit (optional)

Follow these steps to install the Hygena Cooker Hood App2500:

  • Unpack the cooker hood and check that all the parts are included and undamaged.

  • Decide whether you want to use the cooker hood in recirculation mode or extraction mode. In recirculation mode, the air is filtered and returned to the kitchen. In extraction mode, the air is vented outside through a ducting kit.

  • If you choose recirculation mode, you need to install two carbon filters inside the cooker hood. To do this, remove the metal grease filter by pressing the release buttons on both sides and pulling it downwards. Then, insert the carbon filters into the slots on both sides of the motor and secure them with the clips.

  • If you choose extraction mode, you need to connect the cooker hood to a ducting kit that leads outside. To do this, remove the metal grease filter as before and then remove the blanking plate from the top of the cooker hood by unscrewing it. Then, attach the ducting kit to the outlet on the top of the cooker hood and secure it with tape or clamps.

  • Mark the position of the cooker hood on the wall using a pencil and a spirit level. Make sure that the cooker hood is at least 65 cm above the hob and that there is enough space for ventilation around it.

  • Drill four holes on the wall according to the marks you made and insert wall plugs into them.

  • Lift the cooker hood and align it with the wall plugs. Then, screw it to the wall using a screwdriver.

  • Plug in the cooker hood to an electrical socket and switch it on. Test that it works properly by adjusting the speed settings and turning on the lights.

  • Replace the metal grease filter by pushing it upwards until it clicks into place.
