I have a map web app and want to be able to save route data in a GPX file. To do this I am generating an anchor tag containing the data and using the HTML5 download property to set the file name. This works as expected on OS X (10.9.4) in both Firefox (29.0.1) and Chrome (37.0.2062.94), but in Safari (7.0.6) it is ignoring the name in the download attribute and saving a file called simply "Unknown".

I am running 1Password 7 (version 7.2.5) on my Mac (OS X 10.13.6) and got the most recent update for 1Password in the last day or so. I used it today (for the first time since the update) and it will not automatically open Safari and it also will not fill in the username/password like it normally does when I tell it to "Open and Fill" or just "Fill". I checked in Safari and there is no 1Password extension listed. I checked for help on the 1Password support pages and I see a message saying that my browser does not have the extension, but unlike Chrome, Firefox, etc., I can't separately download and re-install the Safari extension because it appears to be imbedded in the 1Password 7 application. Until the very recent update, it was working fine. I looked through some threads but couldn't find anyone posting this problem. Any suggestions on how to get the Extension back into Safari? Thank you.

I'm afraid I am having the exact same problem, but none of the suggested remedies have worked. I am running the latest (OS 10.14.5) and the latest production 1Password 7 (7.3). I have done nothing, but allow updates for the OS and 1Password 7 to be installed as per normal, but the extension has disappeared in Safari (Safari is also up to date!). I have restarted Safari. I have shutdown all applications and restarted my Mac (2018 MacBook) twice... at least... and still the extension does not appear in the list of Extensions present under Safari PREFERENCES/EXTENSIONS. What can be done to make this work? Since it is no longer a separate extension download and install (i.e. seemingly integrated with the 1Password 7 install, then I can't seem to act on this without de-installing 1Password 7 and re-installing... which I am, of course, reluctant to do! Help!

Tried: trash 1PW; empty trash; download+reinstall fresh. Did this several times. No solution. Uninstalled - reinstalled 1PW Extension. At one time I was told 'this version 1PW needs Safari update' but there's nothing in Apple updates? Also Apple downloaded a 4.7.3 Extension to me?? It appeared underneath the 7.3 Extension.

In Safari 12, Apple completely changed the extension format for Safari from the older .safariextz format we'd all become accustomed to using over many years to the newer Safari App Extensions. Safari 11 does not have the ability to run this new SAE format of extension. Safari 12 allows users to install the older format OR the newer SAE format...but the upcoming Safari 13 will complete the transition and the older format will not be usable. So, in 1Password 7 for Mac, we made the decision to switch to the newer format with the release of version 7.2 in September of last year. That means: anyone who updates to 7.2 or later will have the newer SAE format of extension...which will not work with any version of Safari older than version 12.0.

That's why brenty correctly suggested that you needed to upgrade Safari. Which, in turn, requires you to upgrade macOS, since Apple does not allow separate downloads/installs of Safari. The problem here was upgrading 1Password for Mac to the very latest version (which is good, and you should do so!) while keeping your copy of macOS and Safari intentionally one entire generation behind. That's where incompatibilities come from, and it's why we urge users to keep everything up-to-date, because the latest versions include security and compatibility fixes often not found in older versions. It is of course each user's choice whether to upgrade (and what to upgrade), but the greatest likelihood of problems comes from trying to keep one or two key parts of your system frozen on older versions from years ago, while you continue to upgrade everything else.

This software is no longer available for the download. This could be due to the program being discontinued, having a security issue or for other reasons.

NOTE#3: Apple usually only keeps 2 versions of Safari in the software update catalog. The current version and one behind. When a new version is released, the 3rd download link is removed.

If you are using the Postman web client, you will need to also download the Postman desktop agent. The Postman agent overcomes the Cross Object Resource Sharing (CORS) limitations of browsers, and facilitates API request sending from your browser version of Postman. Read the blog post.

As an alternative to the macOS installers for .NET, you can download and manually install the SDK and runtime. Manual installation is usually performed as part of continuous integration testing. For a developer or user, it's generally better to use an installer.

First, download a binary release for either the SDK or the runtime from one of the following sites. If you install the .NET SDK, you will not need to install the corresponding runtime:

Next, extract the downloaded file and use the export command to set DOTNET_ROOT to the extracted folder's location and then ensure .NET is in PATH. This should make the .NET CLI commands available at the terminal.

Alternatively, after downloading the .NET binary, the following commands may be run from the directory where the file is saved to extract the runtime. This will also make the .NET CLI commands available at the terminal and set the required environment variables. Remember to change the DOTNET_FILE value to the name of the downloaded binary:

If Safari is not your first browser of choice and using Internet Explorer for Mac is at the very least quite complicated, you can download any other stable and widely used browser out there and make it the default one on your macOS.

There can be situations when you cannot download an important file from the web while using Safari on Mac. To help you solve that, we bring the solutions to fix Safari not downloading files on your Mac.

First and foremost, you should check the strength of your internet connection. If you are downloading large files, it is ideal to be connected to a faster Wi-Fi network to save time. If you have a Dual-Band Wi-Fi router, we suggest connecting to a 5GHz frequency band and sitting closer to the router. If you are using a Hotspot with your iPhone, you can read our solutions to fix iPhone Hotspot not working on your Mac.

Yes, you can download and install the Safari browser on Windows 11, Windows 10, and Windows 7 as well. However, the catch is that Apple no longer develops Safari for Windows operating system. This means that the latest version of Safari (available for macOS and iOS) is not available for the Windows operating system.

You need to download and install Safari version 5.1.7, released a few years ago. That said, Safari version 5.1.7 is officially available to download from Apple and is fully compatible with the latest Windows 10, both 32-bit and 64-bit systems. The last version of Safari for Windows was released on May 9, 2012.

I am a senior and want to install safari and an alternative email and have not been able to do either. I have a very strong feeling I have been hacked. I should not have all these problems please help

Users of macOS can also download the Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browsers to access Vimeo; see our list of supported browsers above. These browsers have their own system requirements. Newer browser versions may not be compatible with earlier versions of macOS. 350c69d7ab
